Frequently Asked Questions
Product Information & Ingredients
What is the shelf life of your Beef Crisps?
Unopened, our Beef Crisps have a 12-month shelf life. Once opened, they’re best enjoyed within 2-3 days but they'll stay super tasty for weeks if you keep closing the resealable bag. That said, based on field reports, most bags mysteriously vanish much faster.
Where is your meat sourced?
Our Canadian crisps are made with Ontario-raised, grass-fed, grain-finished beef. Local beef, sliced thin, crisped slowly, and given a much more exciting second act.
Is your beef 100% grass-fed & finished?
Our beef is currently grass-fed and grain-finished. In the future, we may offer a 100% grass-fed and finished product, so stay tuned!
What kind of salt do you use?
We use sea salt in our crisps. Nothing weird. Nothing unpronounceable. Just enough salt to make the beef taste like it came to the party prepared.
Are Beef Crisps Gluten Free?
Although there is no gluten added to our crisps, they are produced in a facility that may process other gluten containing products.
Why are your crisps so expensive?
Fair question. Beef Crisps cost more because they’re basically the opposite of cheap snack engineering. We start with real beef, slice it deli-thin, lay it out by hand, and dehydrate it way past jerky territory until it becomes light and crispy.
A large bag starts with about a pound of wet beef before dehydration does its dramatic disappearing act. No sugar pile-on, no soy filler, no mystery crunch. Just beef, seasoning, time, labour, and the sad economic reality that cows are not potatoes. Oh, and we like to do everything by hand, with actual humans that get paid a living wage. Go team!
When will you have new flavours?
We’re working on new flavours, and we’re trying very hard not to launch anything boring. Add your email and we’ll let you know when the next flavour is ready for its close-up.
